Jennifer D. Davidson, MD

Dr. Jennifer Davidson

Dr. Davidson is a native of Ripley, Tennessee. She received her undergraduate degree with honors from Southern Methodist University, where she majored in Chemistry and minored in Art and Math. She received her medical degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Her internship in general surgery and residency training in ophthalmology were performed at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina. She completed a fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus at the Storm Eye Institute at the Medical University of South Carolina.

Dr. Davidson performs a wide variety of ocular surgical procedures including the treatment of strabismus, pediatric cataracts, congenital glaucoma, and nasolacrimal duct obstruction. Other areas of interest include the treatment of refractive errors, amblyopia, and retinopathy of prematurity.

Dr. Davidson is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Alabama Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Association of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus and Women in Ophthalmology. She is a Clinical Instructor of ophthalmology at UAB and participates in the training of residents in ophthalmology. She is also involved with the Christian Medical Association at UAB.

Dr. Davidson enjoys spending time with her husband, Dow and their three sons, Jude, Chapel, and Beckett. She has also participated in surgical mission trips to underserved areas in the developing world.
